The first step for any project. It involves a multidisciplinary talent team to brainstorm design ideas based on the client envision and data provided and Immersive Planet own research. This first step is normally taken as part of the Phase 1 (CI).
The Conceptual Ideas phase builds from the Blue Sky results into a Preliminary Project. First script, main mascots, characters and logos, as well as general theming concepts are originated in this phase. Meanwhile, the operations team develops a feasibility study which will help to size the project. Architecture and production areas will work on the site study, selection of rides and attractions, traffic and guests flow, zoning layout, as well as front and back office requirements. We consider not only the areas customer will see, but our philosophy is to make a comprehensive design package that includes all public, service, Back of House (BOH) and technical areas. Finally, the engineering team will submit the general criteria for sustainability.
In this phase, the project storyline will be developed and applied to the attractions, buildings and themed areas. Art impressions of all park areas, attractions, restaurants, shops, kiosks and all other marquees visible to the guests will be developed, along with all logos, mascots and main and secondary mascots and proposed characters.
The architecture team will develop primary and secondary guest circulation, vehicular circulation, service circulation, employee access and exit, emergency routes, building program describing GFA, capacity and BOH. Engineers will take the general criteria presented in the previous phase to a new level. Operations will develop the expected park attendance based on the feasibility study. And for hotel and resort projects, the hospitality area will be developed to present a more comprehensive view of the project.
The Schematic Design phase lies between the Concept Design and Detail Design. Theming, decorative elements and all building definitions, mascots, characters, logos and technology-related contents (AV, VR, AR, MR hardware, software) that will be needed for the next phase are advanced. In this phase, we will implement all elements of design from the previous phase into a technical set of documents that will help us begin to fine tune the project on technical solutions and, of course, the budget.
Once the definition of the project is on the right track and all issues and solutions are met along the Schematic Design phase, the Detail Design phase is where each one of these solutions will be developed with the final details needed for the tender process, construction and production. In this phase, we increase our close collaboration with local architects and engineers initiated during the Schematic Design to ensure monitoring throughout the entire project of the regulations and local construction and safety specifications. In this phase, which is the most technically demanding phase of them all, no more changes are allowed.
In this phase, which is the most technically demanding phase of them all, so no changes are allowed.
Any complex project requires an experienced project management team that can apply experience and efficiency into the construction schedule and budget by coordinating the many elements that are developed and built off-site in parallel with the on-site works. Construction coordination, Project Management, Tender Process and Production Logistics are key in this phase, including the general areas of construction, engineering and other areas specifically related to entertainment, such as the coordination of rides and attractions production, new technologies and thematic development.
